Doctoral Program in Marketing

Admission

A completed application to the DBA program includes the University graduate admissions application, official copies of transcripts from all universities attended, official copy of GMAT score (550 minimum, marketing department requires GMAT not GRE) not more than five years old, and three reference letters that address potential for success in doctoral study. Please review the DBA Admission Policy and contact the marketing doctoral coordinator before applying. International students must also submit a current financial statement signed by an official of the U.S. Embassy in the applicant’s country or a bank official; also a TOEFL score (not more than two years old) of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 80 (internet-based) must be submitted (unless student has a degree from a university in the USA). After all credentials are received, the admission decision is rendered by the admissions committee.

At the discretion of the committee, an applicant may be invited to visit campus for an oral interview prior to the committee’s final decision.  These visits normally take place during the early part of the year in which a new cohort will be admitted. The marketing department admits a new cohort every two years (on even years, 2014, 2016, 2018, etc.).  While possible, it is rare that a student is admitted during an odd numbered year.  Each cohort consist of 3-4 students in an attempt to build comaraderie in the cohort and allow students in the cohort to support each other through the doctoral education process.
