Recommended Order of Courses
MARKETING
Junior Year
  • MKTG 300: Marketing Principles and Policies. A student should not enroll in this course until the fall quarter of the junior year. Offered every quarter.
  • MKTG 320: Consumer Behavior. Prerequisite is MKTG 300. This course is offered in the winter and spring quarters.
Senior Year
  • MKTG 482: Marketing Research. Prerequisites are senior standing and QA 233 and MKTG 300. This course is offered in the fall and spring quarters. Marketing majors are encouraged to enroll in this course in the fall.
  • Any three (3) courses from the following:
    • MKTG 307: Salesmanship. Prerequisite is MKTG 300. This course is offered in the fall quarter.
      OR
      MKTG 420: Business Advertising. Prerequisite is MKTG 300. This course is offered fall, spring, and summer quarters.
      OR
      MKTG 425: Sales Management. Prerequisite is MKTG 307. This course is offered winter quarter.
      OR
      MKTG 435: Retailing Management. Prerequisite is MKTG 300. This course is offered in the winter and summer quarters.
      OR
      MKTG 485: International Marketing. Prerequisite is MKTG 300. This course is offered in the winter quarter.
      OR
      MGMT 460: Purchasing and Materials Controls. Prerequisite is MKTG 300. This course is offered in the fall quarter.
      OR
      MGMT 477: Supply Chain Management. Prerequisite is MGMT 333. This course is offered in the spring quarter.
  • MKTG 473: Marketing Administration. Prerequisite is senior standing; MKTG 320; and one of the following: MKTG 307, 420, 435, 482, or 485. This course is offered in the fall and spring quarters. Ideally, a student should take this course in the spring quarter after completing all required Marketing courses in this curriculum.
Electives
  • MKTG 401: Internship in Marketing. Students are encouraged to pursue relevant work experience through enrollment in an internship course. Internship courses may be used for a Business Elective.
