Recommended Order of Courses
FINANCE

Junior Year

  • FINC 318: Business Finance. Prerequisites are MATH 125, ACCT 202, and ECON 201 and 202. A student should not enroll in this course until the fall quarter of the junior year. Offered every quarter
  • FINC 319: Intermediate Financial Management. Prerequisite is FINC 318. Students should enroll in this course soon after completing FINC 318. This course is offered in the fall and spring quarters.

Senior Year

  • FINC 414: Investments. Prerequisite is FINC 318. This course is offered in the fall and spring quarters.
  • FINC Electives: (nine hours)
  • FINC 425: Money Markets, Capital Markets and Financial Institutions. Prerequisite is FINC 319. This course is offered in the fall and spring quarters. Ideally, a student should take this course in the spring quarter after completing all required Finance courses in this curriculum.

Electives

  • FINC 401: Internship in Finance. Students are encouraged to pursue relevant work experience through enrollment in an internship course. Internship courses may be used for a Business Elective.
  • FINC 330: Risk and Insurance. This course is offered in the fall quarter.
  • FINC 412: International Finance. Prerequisite is FINC 318. This course is offered in the winter quarter.
  • FINC 421: Portfolio Risk Management. Prerequisite is FINC 414. This course is offered in the winter quarter.
  • FINC 422: Bank Management. Prerequisite is FINC 318. This course is offered in the fall quarter.
  • FINC 430: Advanced Financial Management. Prerequisite is FINC 319. This course is offered in the spring quarter.
  • FINC 442: Principles of Real Estate and Land Economics. This course is offered in the winter quarter.
