The purpose of Ruston Lincoln Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau is to create, preserve and enhance quality visitor experiences and overnight stays through the promotion and development of the tourism economy of Lincoln Parish. The bureau has the responsibility of marketing Ruston and Lincoln Parish as a meeting/leisure destination throughout the South and United States .
The RLCVB is seeking a professional individual looking to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the travel and tourism industry. Qualified candidates must have strong writing skills, computer skills and interpersonal communication skills are essential to this position. This is a great opportunity to try a multitude of tasks and gain experience in the tourism industry. Interns will do more than just file papers!
Interns will work in the following areas within the CVB:
Job description:
- Assist with direct mail marketing campaigns and the production of mail out pieces
- Assist the Marketing Director with designing brochures
- Assist with the preparation and organization of special events, sales missions, tradeshows, familiarization tours and site visits
- Assist visitors with information on Ruston and Lincoln Parish, as well as the state of Louisiana
- Assist with writing press releases
- Oversee general office activities when both Executive Director and Marketing Director are out of the office
- Assist with general administrative tasks of the CVB office
