We are looking to recruit students interested in business and banking for a sumer internship. Candidates should be of Junior or Senior standing. We will also consider students who are graduating this spring or next fall.

The ideal candidate for the summer internship should be an individual with a passion for learning and a desire to pursue a career in business. Students do not need to be business majors, but a basic knowledge of accounting and finance is preferred. Interns will spend their summer at First Guaranty's headquarters in North Louisiana, which is located in Homer. Students will also spend time at First Guaranty's headquarters in Hammond. Interns may be asked, however, to travel on a select basis.

Interns will work with Evan Singer, the Vice President of First Guaranty Bank in North Louisiana. They will be involved in various aspects of banking which include asset liability management, commercial lending, consumer lending, customer service, and credit. They will also participate in loan committee meetings. The industries we deal with include loans to hotels, shopping centers, office buildings, apartments, subdivisions, agriculture, oil and natural gas, and manufactureres. Interns will learn how to perform financial analysis and understand the loan approval process.
