David Kyle McDonald, College of Business 2014 Alumnus of the Year

Kyle McDonald founded and serves as Chief Executive Officer of Argent
Financial Group, Inc. (“Argent”), a Ruston, Louisiana based wealth management firm.

Kyle founded Argent as The Trust Company of Louisiana in May, 1990. He has served as Argent’s only CEO. Argent provides a broad array of financial services through its corporate structure, including trust administration, investment management, oil and gas rights consulting and management, retirement plan services, securities
brokerage and other related financial services. Argent is responsible for approximately $8.0 billion in client assets.

Kyle is an honor graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a B.S. in Finance where he was student body president and the student member of the Board of Supervisors for the University of Louisiana System. He holds a law degree from L.S.U. and is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association and a graduate of the ABA National Graduate Trust School. He practiced law with Taylor, Porter, Brooks, & Phillips in Baton Rouge in 1984 and 1985 before joining Ruston State Bank in mid-I 985.

Kyle was Vice President & Trust Officer and Chairman of the Management Committee at Ruston State Bank from 1985-1990, prior to founding Argent. He served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Northern Louisiana Medical Center, the North Louisiana Economic Partnership, and the Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, among other community activities. He is a member of the Louisiana committee of 100 for Economic Development and The Bridge Community Church of Ruston. He and his wife of over 30 years, Tisdale Knight McDonald, also a Louisiana Tech University graduate are the parents of four adult children: Brooks McDonald Campany, Blair McDonald Hull, Kade McDonald, and Mary-Kyle McDonald.
