Gary Goolsby is Worldwide ABA Managing Practice Director for Arthur Andersen, LLP. A Ruston native, Gary is an accounting graduate with bachelors (1973) and MBA (1974) degrees from Louisiana Tech University. He has worked for Arthur Andersen in a variety of industries including brokerage, oil and gas, mining, utilities, mortgage banking and construction. Gary became a partner in September 1984 at which time he transferred to Arthur Andersen's Chicago World Headquarters for a two-year period working on the staff of the Committee on Professional Standards, Arthur Andersen's highest standard setting committee. Upon returning to the Houston office, Gary began working in the financial services area with clients in the banking, savings an loan, mortgage banking, insurance and real estate industries. Gary has served as Managing Practice Director for North America, American's Practice Director for Financial Markets and Worldwide Director of Industry Competence and Risk Management for Depository Institutions.

Gary has served as a member of the Committee on Banking of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Financial Institutions Committee of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He previously served as chairman of the Independent Behavioral Standards Subcommittee of the Ethics Division of the AICPA and served on the Executive Committee of the Ethics Division of such organization. Gary is a member of the Texas Society of CPAs, Houston Chapter of the Texas Society CPAs and the AICPA. He is an active community leader in a numerous organizations. Gary is a member of the Executive Cabinet of Tech's College of Business.

Gary is married to the former Kaye Tinsley, originally from Arcadia, Louisiana and a 1973 graduate of Louisiana Tech University with a BS in Business Administration. Kaye is also a community leader, active in a number of organization s such as the Republican Party, Advisory Group for Houston Community Colleges, CPA Auxiliary (formerly president and member of the Board of Directors), and many others. Gary and Kaye have one son, Greg.
