The College of Business Annex will feature a three-story, 20,000 square-foot building that will be connected to the existing building by a glass atrium. The Annex will include “smart” classrooms to support undergraduate teaching, graduate seminar rooms, as well as doctoral and faculty offices. Team meeting rooms, graduate seminar rooms and social gathering spaces are critical for creating a sense of community for students to collaborate, connect to the network and socialize.
Floor One - Undergraduate Classrooms
The second floor will allow the College to bring together all the graduate programs into a Graduate Programs Center and help maintain the “high research” and “national university” status that are critical to the University. The second floor incorporates classrooms designed for the MBA/MPA programs and doctoral seminar rooms. Other premier business schools have research centers to support collaborative research along with seminar classrooms for graduate education to enhance and strengthen our graduate programs.
Floor Two - The Graduate Center
As a doctoral-granting institution, the College of Business competes for both faculty and doctoral students on a national level against top, flagship universities. Facilities that will help them succeed are important in the faculty’s decision to come to Louisiana Tech. The College’s doctoral program contributes 25 to 30 percent of the University’s doctoral graduates. The importance of top facilities is essential. Consequently, the third floor focus is on faculty offices for faculty and doctoral students. Research centers for our existing and new initiatives and Eminent Scholar offices for two newly funded chairs are also included.
